Happiness in a topic we can talk about for hours and hours and we still would‘t find a unanimous answer what it really is. I guess it depends on every person, everyone sees happiness as a completely different thing. But happiness isn‘t actually a certain thing, we sometimes forget that it‘s more like a road, like a journey and not a certain point in life which will make you fully happy once you reach it. If you try to look for a specific point in life so that you could be happy, you never will. Happiness comes from the inside, not the outside. I learned this the hard way as probably many of us do while trying to depend on life‘s situations, on others, we keep on hoping to become happy when we‘ll get into university, when we‘ll find a perfect guy or girl, when we get the chance travel the world. Being happy is the best feeling in the world whatever that happiness means to you. When you are happy, you want this feeling to be in your life forever which, of course, doesn‘t happen because it‘s impossible to be happy all the time. But I think it depends on us so much how happy we are in life despite the life happening all around us. This is why i want to talk a bit about my tips on being happier.

     ✿  Be Positive.

This probably sounds a bit cliché but seriously, it‘s so so important to create a positive atmosphere in your life. You have to make room for positivity by removing all the negative parts and put an effort to make life as bright as it‘s possible. There are enough bad and rough situations in life itself, so we can only try to bring some positivity ourselves so that our lives would be balanced. I try so much to look on the bright side as much as I can and I fail miserably pretty often and I know how difficult that is sometimes because by nature I am a person who always thinks disasters in her head so being positive actually is a tough work to me. I know some people are much more positive without trying that much and I honestly envy them. But you can be positive, you just have to try a little if you aren‘t already. it‘s really worth it, believe me.
You can fill your life with positive affirmations, hang them where you can see them everyday, remove negative people from your life (which is so much easier said than done of course, but it can be a very effective way), THINK positive thoughts in your daily life – instead of thinking „oh no, this will never work out“, for once try to think that it will, that things will eventually BE okay.

It is such a pleasant activity to have in your life and it does wonders for your mental health. I think it‘s so much important to have a good laugh at least once in your day. If people around you aren't that funny, Internet is an endless source for that and you can find whatever makes you laugh. Everyone has their own sense of humor and that‘s why Internet is amazing – it can be anything from cat videos to great comedians or great shows to watch (Modern family anyone?). It‘s so important to actually make an effort to have a good laugh, it helps you snap out of bad mood immediately. Instead of reading one more article about economy or world‘s problems, try to have a good laugh. It‘s amazing, believe me.

Create little rituals and stick to them.

I think it‘s great to have little rituals in your every day life which make you happy. It‘s all in the details in life. I think it‘s extremely important to find some time every day to make something that you really enjoy. It doesn‘t have to be anything big, anything expensive or even really exciting – it just have to make you feel better. It‘s up to you to choose what it is that makes you feel better, what puts a smile on your face instantly, what gives you this nice feeling in your heart. To some it can be as simple as a fresh cup of coffee every morning, to others this can be a little dance routine to their favorite song every day. It can also be as simple as painting your nails your favorite color (or all the colors you like at once), reading 10 pages of a captivating book every day before you go to sleep, watching an episode of your favorite TV show.. the list can be endless, you only have to choose what you really want to make a habit in your life. I think it can increase your level of happiness so much if you actually find time every day to do something you really enjoy. We all have things to do, responsibilities, meetings and deadlines but it‘s up to us to try to be a little bit happier by finding time to do something that makes us feel good.

  Go out more.

By this I don't mean a night club, I just want to say you should go out every day. Sometimes I find myself stuck at home if I don't have places to be and it's not that hard to make this into a bad habit and I think it's so important to go out at least for a while every day. Just to take a walk in the park, spend some time with people you love, go to a restaurant or just to eat pizza, go to movies. Just don't get stuck at home, go out to places, meet people. Sometimes only walking in a street full of people can make you feel better!

  Be Grateful

I believe that the most important thing in life is to concentrate on what you‘re grateful for instead of thinking about what you don‘t have. It sounds cliché again but gratitude isn‘t as easy as it sounds to be honest, being grateful really takes effort. There will always be things in our lives we don‘t have, things we want to improve but everyone has things to be grateful for. Being grateful isn‘t necessarily about big things, about expensive cars or big houses, or private planes, or tickets to New York (which would be awesome) but it‘s much more about small things in lives which we take for granted without really noticing them that much. These things are different for every person but it‘s so important to find them in your life. This is why I have a series of posts my endless list of gratitude and I also have a little book where every single day I try to write couple of things I‘m grateful for that day. Sometimes a week goes by without writing in that book, sometimes I have so many things to write, I forget some of them. I  really believe it makes a difference, it really does make me happier. We all talk about gratitude but not everyone actually does something about it. It‘s not difficult to do for everyone but the results are amazing. Maybe you don‘t have a perfect apartment , maybe you can‘t afford to travel every week to a different city, maybe you don‘t have a perfect boyfriend/family/friends but there is always something to be grateful for.

Spring is my favorite season so I'm very happy once Winter goes away and lets the Spring in. I obviously love it for the weather as probably everyone else does and I've also always thought that Spring fashion is the best. Spring is just so fresh and it always brings something new and exciting and I love it for that. And of course, flowers everywhere is the best thing!

Pretty much everyone loves pastels and I just love wearing these incredibly pretty colors on my nails through the entire Springtime. My pastels collection is missing pastel yellow and I'm on the hunt to find the perfect one. I love all the pastels on my nails, I can't even pick one and that's why I love creating combinations with all the colors I want on my nails.

Bows to me are always the best accessory no matter what season is around but I feel like I forget about them a little on the wintertime and Spring is just a perfect occasion to start wearing them in my hair a lot more often!

I love floral pattern! These two are new addition to my collection ( the last one is from Zara, the right one - Primark) and I can't wait to wear them once it gets a little bit warmer. This black and white one isn't what exactly comes to mind once you think 'floral' but I really like it and I got very excited when I found it in Primark on January. It was freezing outside at that time but I just wasn't able to leave it there at the shop.

I'm in love with my new shoes and bag! I think it's quite obvious that I really like pastels this Spring. I never really thought I'd buy a bag this color, I don't even like orange color but this bag isn't really orange and I really like it. It's perfect for Spring I think! Oh, these shoes are also great. I like this lilac color so much!

I love having fresh flowers in my room, they add such a special touch to my room and I try to always have them once Spring finally comes.
My Mom found this beautiful tea cup at my Grandmother's home. It is vintage and is very pretty for on it's own but it's even more special to me because it belonged to her and it reminds me of her all the time.

I have been braiding my hair a lot more recently and I'm absolutely loving it!

♥ Once again there's one more picture of my city. Since for some reason it took me absolutely ages to get used to living here after I came back from my trip to London, I'm really enjoying the fact that I started noticing how beautiful this city is and I keep taking pictures of it all the time.

I like these colors together so much! It reminds me of bridal nails a little bit and I'm not going to get married anytime soon but I loved how feminine my nails looked. This sparkly nail polish has been my favorite since December and apparently it looks great with pastels which I'm loving at the moment!

If you ever find yourself craving for a perfect cake - there it is! For a long time I've been reading about bloggers eating this kind of cake and I've always wondered what's so great about this cake because I've never tried it as it's not really popular in Lithuania and I really doubt if there's a place here where I could it to try. So I just had to do it myself and it turns out it's actually incredibly good!
I love how it looks, this red color makes it look so fancy, it's not that difficult to make and it tastes amazing. I love love love it. Couple of days ago I made one for my Mom's birthday and she loved it and now there's just a small piece of it.
There is a recipe I used here.

This is also a 200th post in my blog and I'm doing a little dance now because that's an achievement to me!

It feels good to find things which are making you feel happier or relaxed. Lately I have been doing a thing which I'm not really used to. I am not usually the person who can go everywhere alone, I've been to movies alone couple of times and it felt good but to be honest it took a little bit more courage than I expected. But when last week there was a day when I wasn't really feeling myself no matter what I did,  I decided to take a very long walk back home from Uni.
I took a very long walk in the park and I loved it. Apparently, solitary walks can be a very wonderful thing to do. I don't always feel comfortable doing things completely on my own and I think most of us has experienced that at least once in their lifetime. On the daily basis I spend a lot of time on my own and since I'm an only child I am used to that and I don't really mind being alone but I very rarely am truly alone - most of the time I rely on books, music, movies or blogs to keep me company so that I wouldn't have to be in my head all the time because that's sometimes not a very pleasant place to be. But that morning my earphones completely fell apart so I had no other choice but to actually be on my own. And I really liked it. I didn't have music blasting in my ears, I didn't have a phone glued to my hand, I was truly alone and it turned out to be exactly what I needed. I kept walking really slowly, without any plan, I just kept looking at other people, thinking about their stories, their plans and it was so nice to get out of my head for once.
Then the other day I took a solitary walk again. No music, no phone (really no phone, the battery died the minute I walked out of my home), I just grabbed a camera because it was so nice outside. Then again, it was exactly what I needed.
I think it was a wonderful idea that day which just popped out in my head. No I just have to make habit out of it because solitary walks are just a wonderful thing to do.

This is a quote by one of my all time favorite writers and he just has to be right! Solitude isn't always a bad thing, it doesn't even have to make us feel lonely and even if it for sure takes strength to be on your own, it can help us grow in many ways which is the best thing.
No man should go through life without once experiencing healthy, even bored solitude in the wilderness, finding himself depending solely on himself and thereby learning his true and hidden strength. -Jack Kerouac

For the longest time I have been wanting to start drinking healthy smoothies but for some reason haven't started until the moment my dear friend showed me a good example.
So now for couple of weeks every (not really, sometimes I am too lazy) morning I give myself a big dose of vitamins. I don't follow any recipes and I mostly just throw things I like into the blender and just expect the best results and so far most of them were actually very tasty. They are so easy to make and I love that and the result is always unexpected so it's like a little bit of magic. I am not a very healthy eater to be honest so doing this for myself feels like a big achievement and I feel proud to be finally doing something good for my health.
Here are two of my favorite recipes I've tried so far.

This one I have been drinking the most often is containing orange, grapefruit, some blueberries and spinach. The color of this one isn't very pretty when you put spinach in them but without them this smoothie is pretty violet color. It is really sour but I like sour things so that's perfect to me!

This one is very very good! It's much more sweet and more thick and the color is a very pretty shade of green!

Sundays are rarely the day I enjoy a lot but this week I had a perfect Sunday and I start to realize more and more what people mean when they say that they love Sundays. I think this day is meant to be enjoyed, even its name is very beautiful and luckily yesterday was truly a Sun-day. Hooray, sun is back!
My day started with a walk in the park close to my home. It was a unusually early morning to me and it was quite chilly and very foggy around. There aren't many things that make me so happy as the beginning of the Spring when days are so sunny and not that very warm yet so you don't have to feel like a bear with many sweaters, a coat and biggest scarf anymore, but it's not that warm that you could say hi once again to your favorite leather jacket. Beginning of the Spring also means I get the chance to come back to the my happy place which I have missed so much since the last time I've been there (it was probably October) and kept dreaming about returning back there the whole winter. When I finally saw that perfect little house, I became so calm and relaxed. I don't know if there's another place where I feel so much at peace with myself and the world around me. I just kept walking around it, I was drinking tea and just enjoying the sunshine. After that we took a walk by the lake and the lake was still frozen and there aren't that many reminders left from the winter. When you are in the city, it seems like winter wasn't just here and it's so so nice. I wish every Sunday was just as nice like this past one because I enjoyed it really much!

♥ Tulips are always the true sign that Spring is coming and it makes me so so happy to see that snow has completely disappeared and there's more and more flowers everywhere!

♥ I don't usually celebrate Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) but I can never say no to pancakes so my dinner last Tuesday was absolutely perfect.
♥ International Women's Day was yesterday and this is the beauties I've received.
♥ There was also a big traditional fair in my city this weekend and there were so many goodies to buy there and I simply can't resist walking by cotton candy and not buying it so I just had to get myself one big dose of sugar!

♥ There are times when I forget that my city is a very beautiful one and walk there every single day simply ignoring it but once Spring comes, snow melts and sun starts to shine I start noticing again how incredibly pretty all these narrow streets are and I start to enjoy living here more.

March 8, 2014

A day like this when sun in shining, I‘m sitting on my balcony and drinking hot tea, seems very appropriate to do another tag. I seriously have a thing for them, it‘s not only that I really enjoy doing them, I also love reading posts like these. Today I decided to do a TMI (too much information) tag which I‘ve been seeing for a while now floating around and it seems really interesting to me.
So here we go!

Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent                          //    Cate Blanchett Dior Haute Couture

Awards season is always great and exciting not only for music or movies but also for so many Red Carpet events happening one after another which are so entertaining to watch. All these incredibly beautiful gowns, amazing jewelery, makeup and also very very beautiful people all in one place is just a joy to the eyes. Oscars is of course THE biggest event in movie industry and the red carpet is always the best there. This year were so many great gowns there, so many amazing movies were nominated and even if pretty much none of my favorites won the Oscar (I cried a little when gorgeous Leo didn't win an Oscar again) this was still an amazing show to watch as always! You simply can't go wrong with a host like Ellen, I admire this woman so so much.
